2014 - The Merging Point
Rowing the River Boyne in a sea faring skiff as a member of Inver Colpa Rowing Club gave rise to this work. Meditation, connection and a shared effort saw this group row a Mark 1 Skiff to the Isle of Man. Historically, socially, religiously this river has divided, however neither people nor water allow for fixed boundaries.
The Merging Point Inside Out
In the midst of history and knowledge, indicated by the ancient books from the LFTT Mobile Library Project, weather is inside and outside of us, determining and influencing our physical and mental states.
The work was shown as part of Things in Translation, a group exhibition at the Highlanes Gallery, Drogheda
The Legs Foundation for the Foundation of Things Mobile Library Project (LFTT), a collaborative project pioneered by Helen Horgan.

2014 The Merging Point on the River Boyne video clip.
Adapted from The Merging Point, 2016 saw WATER REFLECTOR be the first collaboration between musician and composer Breifne Holohan and multimedia installation artist, Vivienne Byrne. A project celebrating Drogheda’s historic river, the work presents footage of the Boyne at various locations, taken by Byrne from a moving rowing boat on the river with her camera focused directly on the water. The music is a partially scored, partially improvised response on solo electric guitar. It draws on the ephemeral quality in which the water appears to transform and evolve.
