2017 -A Bird Never Flew on One Wing

Orientation, Group Show, Droichead Arts Centre

Beginning with the Archaeopteryx, a small bird-like dinosaur, considered to be the first dinosaur to take flight, this work contemplates the next considerable iteration of evolution in the Anthropocene. The significance of the strength and malleability of the wishbone that prevents the chest from bursting in order to facilitate flight also suggests to me the need for strength and flexibility of humankind to cope with the challenges ahead.
