2020 Lockdown Blossom
Lockdown Blossom I and II were a response to the very unusual circumstances we found ourselves in during the COVID 19 pandemic. During the first lockdown, the usually optimistic cherry blossoms were in full bloom, but there was an ominous sense of uncertainty. This series examined the juxtaposition of feelings of anxiety and foreboding with feelings of security and joy.
Borrowed Ground Collective in association with Droichead Arts Centre presented a series of artworks in response to the separation experienced during the Covid pandemic, connecting artists and the wider Drogheda public in a series of exhibitions “Connection’ and ‘Connection II’ curated by Dorothy Smith.
The Borrowed Ground Collective led to the establishment of 8Fold Studios at 16 Fair Street, Drogheda, Co Louth in 2022.
